Booking a vacation now may be daunting due to the uncertainty of travel. To put your mind at ease when booking your next adventure, Discover Canada Tours has put into place a Book with Confidence policy. We have updated our cancellation policies, terms and conditions and payment plans to be more flexible. As a full-service travel agency, we can also book travel insurance for you for further protection, including Cancel For Any Reason insurance.
The cancellation policies are subject to change based on provincial and federal rules. If you book for 2022 and for some reason you can’t travel due to restrictions, we will honor your booking into 2023 or even 2024. This means that you won’t miss out on visiting some of the greatest sights in the world.

Scheduled Tours
- We only require a 10% deposit at the time of booking which is fully-refundable up to 60-days prior to departure. Full payment is due 60 days in advance of departure.
- Bookings made within 60 days of departure will require a credit card on file and full payment will be applied at time of booking.
- Payment must be made in Canadian currency. Discover Canada Tours reserves the right to implement any additional surcharges to tour fares that may be implemented or enforced upon DCT from third party providers or government agencies.
Cancellation by the Participant
Should you need to cancel your trip, you must notify us in writing by letter or email. Notification of cancellation is based on the working week in Canada. Weekend days or statutory holidays cannot be calculated for cancellation fee avoidance. An acknowledgement of cancellation notice will be sent; should you not receive this advice, then cancellation has not been received by Discover Canada Tours and must be resent. We recommend the purchase of independent travel insurance. Please review our cancellation deadlines below.
Cancellation by Operator
A departure date for a scheduled coach tour offered and operated by Discover Canada Tours will become a guaranteed departure when the minimum number of customers, secured by a valid deposit, has been reached on that departure date. All guaranteed tours will depart as indicated on the applicable confirmation, subject to reasonable itinerary changes as described in these terms of health and safety concerns. This guarantee is not applicable in the case of unforeseeable circumstances that prevent us from running the tour. Up to date tour and itinerary information is available on the Discover Canada Tours website or by contacting us. Brochures and other printed materials displaying tour information and departure dates are subject to change and may not be relied upon for purposes of this guarantee.
If a tour offered and operated by Discover Canada Tours is canceled by us before the date of departure for reasons other than force majeure, and the cancellation is not caused by your fault or negligence, you will have the choice of accepting:
- a substitute tour of equivalent or similar superior value; or
- a substitute tour of lesser value if no tour of equivalent or superior value is available, and a refund for the difference in price between the original tour and the substitute tour; or
- a full refund for the canceled tour.
In the event of a cancellation by the supplier of a travel service not operated but offered by Discover Canada Tours, and where Discover Canada Tours acts solely as an agent for the suppliers, all effort is made to provide you with a suitable alternative of the travel service. Discover Canada Tours is not responsible for any incidental expenses or consequential losses that you incur as a result of the canceled travel service including visas, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail, non-refundable car parking or other fees, loss of earnings, or loss of enjoyment. Where a significant element of a tour cannot be provided as described after departure, Discover Canada Tours will make suitable alternative arrangements where possible.
Discover Day Tours
- Prior to 24 hours before the tour departure, your tour is fully refundable.
- Within 24 hours prior to departure, your tour is 100% non-refundable, non-transferable.
West Trek Day Tours
- Prior to 7 days before the tour departure, your tour is fully refundable.
- Within 7 days prior to departure, your tour is 100% non-refundable, non-transferable.
Overnight Tours up to 4-nights in duration
- Up to 60-days prior to your scheduled tour departure, your tour is fully refundable
- Between 60-31 days prior to your scheduled tour departure you can receive 100% credit to rebook to another future tour, or receive a full refund less the 10% deposit which can be used as credit for future travel.
- Within 30 days prior to your scheduled tour departure, your tour is non-refundable, non-transferable.
Overnight Tours of 5-nights or more in duration & Destination Snow Tours
- Up to 60-days prior to your scheduled tour departure you can receive 100% credit to rebook to another future tour, or receive a full refund less the 10% deposit which can be used as credit for future travel
- Between 60-31 days prior to your scheduled tour departure you can receive 100% credit to rebook to another future tour, non-refundable.
- Within 30-days prior to your tour departure, your trip is non-refundable, non-transferable
As a full-service travel agency, we can book travel insurance for you, including Cancel For Any Reason insurance, to give you further peace of mind and protection in case you need to cancel within our cancellation deadlines.
Self-Guided Travel
Payment must be made in Canadian currency. Discover Canada Tours accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Verbal and/or written authorization for the use of your card indicates your compliance with our booking terms and conditions. Credit card payments will be processed in Canadian dollars. We also accept direct wire transfers for bookings up to 45 days prior to scheduled tour departure. A copy of the wire transfer must be emailed on the date of issue indicating the total amount, reservation number(s) and customer names. All bank fees related to transactions are the responsibility of the remitter.
All tour packages including Northern Lights viewings (Yukon and Northwest Territories) require full payment at time of booking. Full payment of other booked tours is due 60 days prior to scheduled departure. Bookings made within 60 days of scheduled departure will require a credit card on file and full payment at time of booking. Other supplier payment policies may apply and will be advised at time of booking.
All taxes and fees are included in the price quote, unless otherwise stated.
Prices are subject to fluctuations and/or fuel and service charges imposed by airlines, rail & coach providers, hotels, airports, government agencies, and other ground providers. In the event of fluctuations we reserve the right to adjust prices without notice.

Self-Guided Experiences (except Inside Passage)
- 8 or more days prior to departure: fully-refundable less a processing fee (CAD$50 for single destination packages and CAD$100 for multi-destination packages) per bookings
- 7 or less days prior to departure: non-refundable
Inside Passage & Northern BC Tour
- up to 46 days prior to departure: fully refundable less a $100 fee per booking and any supplier cancellation fees (if applicable) which will be specified in the quote.
- 45 – 8 days prior to departure: 25% non-refundable
- 7 or less days prior to departure: 100% non-refundable
