Tour Itinerary

This itinerary is subject to change due to unforeseen (weather) conditions. Departure times may vary by date, please see your confirmation email for exact departure times.

Day One - Vancouver to Kelowna
As the first day of your adventure awaits you, you will meet at Canada Place at 7:30 am to check in with our team and complete the COVID screening protocols. Here you will get to meet your fellow adventurers. The tour begins at 8 am sharp, so please ensure that you are at Canada Place with plenty of time to spare. As you depart Vancouver, you will enter into the beautiful Fraser Valley, an area rich in farmlands and some fantastic wineries. Upon leaving the Fraser Valley, you will stop at Othello Tunnels just outside of Hope. The Othello Tunnels are an amazing example of engineering. Many films have been filmed at Othello Tunnels, including Rambo and Planet of the Apes. After leaving Othello Tunnels, you will travel into the Okanagan Valley, an area that is famous for two reasons; being Canada’s only desert region and, of course, the famous wineries of British Columbia. You will stop at a local winery for a Tasting. This evening you will stay overnight in downtown Kelowna near Kelowna’s Waterfront, filled with shops, restaurants and the beautiful boardwalk that runs alongside Lake Okanagan. Tonight you will have the option to join your guide for a night out on the town.
Day Two - Kelowna to Banff
After checking out of your hotel, you will continue your journey through the Okanagan Valley, through the Selkirk Mountains and into the beautiful Rocky Mountains. You will stop at Roger’s Pass on this leg of the trip, the gateway into the Rocky Mountains. Roger’s Pass will offer you your first views of the mighty Rocky Mountains. As you continue onto Banff, you will be in for a treat as you will visit some of the most remarkable glacial lakes in the world. Of course, a trip into the Rocky Mountains is not complete without a stop at Lake Louise, the most famous and most photographed glacial lake globally. Moving on from Lake Louise, you will be treated to the beautiful Moraine Lake. This iconic lake will provide stunning photo opportunities. You will also have the opportunity to rent a canoe here and paddle your way across the lake. There is always the option for a polar bear swim as well. You will then travel into Banff, a perfect example of a Rockies town. A sightseeing tour around Banff will include Banff Ave, Bow Falls, Surprise Corner and the Banff Springs Hotel. This evening will be at your leisure. There are many restaurants that you can choose from. Please ask your guide for suggestions so that you can Taste all that Banff has to offer. You will have a chance again to have a night out on the town with your guide.
Day Three - Banff to Jasper
Today is a busy day, but one of our favourite days on tour. After checking out of your hotel, you will have the opportunity to go up Sulphur Mountain for an additional fee. The views from the top, overlooking Banff and the mighty Rocky Mountains, will make you realize just how we fit into the grand scheme of things. We highly recommended that you take this opportunity as it will make your trip that much more complete. Upon leaving Banff, you will visit Bow Lake, a much overlooked glacial lake but one of the Rockies’ most beautiful lakes. A stop at Athabasca Falls will show you the mighty power that nature has to offer, with gorges and valleys cut through the landscape. Then it is up the Columbia Icefields. This stretch of road is littered with glaciers. You will stop at the Athabasca Glacier, where, for an additional fee, you will be able to ride the famous Snocoach on the Ice Explorer Glacier Tour. Walking on this glacial will make you realize just how fragile nature is. As you travel through the Columbia Icefields, you will arrive at Jasper, your destination for the evening. This evening you have free time again to sample the local cuisine and explore the town. A highly recommended activity in Jasper is the Jasper Dark Sky Preserve, the world’s second-largest preserve dedicated to dark skies for optimal stargazing. Power down those devices and look up!
Day Four - Jasper to Kamloops
Set those alarms for the crack of dawn because this morning, you will have an early start. The day is jam-packed with some of the best sightseeing of the adventure! After checking out of your hotel, you will travel to Maligne Lake and Canyon. Here you can choose to walk along the water’s edge or book a boat cruise to Spirit Island. Pre-booking this cruise is highly recommended. Maligne Lake is one of the most photographed lakes in the Rockies due to its deep emerald green colour. The Maligne Canyon is the deepest in Jasper National Park. You will have the opportunity to walk through it with your guide. Leaving the Rockies and heading back into the Okanagan Valley, you will stop in Valemount for a bite to eat. The final stop of the day is at Spahats Falls in Wells Grey Park. You will end for the night in Kamloops, where your accommodation includes an outdoor swimming pool. Enjoy one of the many restaurants that Kamloops has to offer.
Day Five - Kamloops to Vancouver
As the adventure begins to wind up, you will check out of your hotel and embark on the final leg as you head back towards Vancouver. Upon leaving Kamloops, today we have a fantastic hike planned for you. Join your guide as you wind your way to the top of Battle Bluff, where you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular view. This hike is not too difficult and will be able to be made by most. The loop is 3 km. Please ask your guide if you are uncertain about the difficulty if you are concerned. As you travel through and leave the Okanagan Valley and enter back into the Fraser Valley, you will be afforded many beautiful sights along the way. The final stop of the adventure is a Tasting at one of the Fraser Valley cideries. Enjoy some tasty beverages and toast to the new friendships that you have made along the way! You will arrive back in Vancouver at approximately 7 pm.

Read Luke's Review

I am a seasoned traveler . I specifically go on tours just like this at least once if not twice a year for past decade .

This was a new company that I never knew or heard before , reviews looked good so me and my wife decided to give them a shot .

Let me tell you – 5/5 reviews are lying . They deserve more . A lot more .

Organization

Tour took place over 5 days. There was NEVER any lag . All activities were working smoothly and precisely as planned. There were times where we were on a tight schedule , but what’s app reminders , involvement of the tour guide and her assistant in the activities steered entire group into the direction where I didn’t even feel that there was any pressure for time . Entire experience was seamless, and that takes a lot of skill to execute .

On top of that , the plan…

I do not know who has planned this tour – but whoever did deserves a medal . Everything just worked . Transition between lush Vancouver mainland , to the fertile Okanagan valley then passing through the Rockies and epic glacial lakes … long drive coming back ( which didn’t feel long at all thanks to the attractions on the way ), and then coming back finally to BC – every location we had a night stop at or even a rest stop made sense. Kelowna marked prairie climate .
Banff and Jasper were the crown of the tour , just so they could be slightly diffused by Kamloops . There was a flow to it . Every location made sense , every rest stop gave opportunity to facilitate backpackers who were on a tight budget and allowed bit luxury for those who could splurge a bit more .

Very important message to the owners of the company – listen to your operators . They know when things work and when the need improvement .

There was / is a plan – and our guide adhered to it 100%. That being said I really liked the freedom given to our guide to adjust the itinerary when
Needed.Through the tour , when forest fires

caused air in Kamloops to be unbreathable ,
Janelle( our guide , but about her in a moment ) decided to change hikes around – and it worked !!! We saw waterfalls and lakes that maybe were not in initial plan – but completed the tour beautifully .

Extracurricular activities

There are / were:

Gondola over Banff . Solid 9/10 . Gondola itself as cool as it was ,was nothing in comparison to the view over the city. Perfect morning trip, that prepared us for more things to come .

Hike over ice fields ( glacier tour) 10/10
3 major melting glaciers created “ice fields “ a sheet of ice covering a valley. This trip was cool from the beginning to the end. ( you HAVE to see vehicles they use to climb the glacier – I felt like a little kid again ) Don’t forget to bring your bottle for the water from the glacier -purest water you will ever try .

Lake tour over maligne lake – 11/10 . I must admit
I was pretty skeptical over doing a cruise over a
glacial lake- I mean what’s so special about
another blue hued lake ( we saw 3 over the trip) .
Wrong . I was convinced by my wife to do it and I am glad we did it . A valley with an emerald lake in the middle surrounded by glaciers will give one of the most picturesque vistas in the world . I don’t imagine any human alive that wouldn’t be moved by it . Personal favorite of the tour .

Jasper stargazing . – cannot grade didn’t attend it . Both me and my wife did identical activity in our

home Ontario and we felt it would be redundant . I half regret not going as it probably was pretty good.

Accommodations

Exceeded our expectations. Every hostel was
clean , and through the tour every consecutive
hostel was getting better and better. Every hostel provided us with Breakfest ( yey) , except jasper
Where we could buy it .

Jasper had best quality wise hostel , but I am
guessing it was probably also the most expensive as it was simply brand spanking new .

I know hotels with worse quality than those
hostels .Bus was new , had air condition , was cleaned and sanitized daily . USB ports in the seats were a nice addition .

Ideal for first timers !

Staff

We had a team- tour leader and part time driver Janelle , and her young sidekick – Hayden.
They made the tour the experience it was and I do not imagine it without them .

Janelle is/ was a perfect example of how professional veteran of tourism industry should be. She knew a lot about the region , it’s history , ecosystem and culture . At every rest stop we could count on her to point out places of interests.
And she had that spark that motivated people to
“ make the moose out of life “ ( reference to a book one of my friends bought on the tour).

She took part of every activity and you could feel that she had fun doing it . Some people do their job because they must – but she does it because she loves it . And it shows . I met many guides In My travels but she beats them all by a long shot .

I still can’t believe that she run the trip AND drove all of us . It’s a hell of a skill.

Overall- (tldr)

Why are you reading this ? Whether you are a seasoned globetrotter , or beginner backpacker this tour is for you . Stop reading start booking it’s 10 /10 and if you don’t believe me read other reviews . This trip is worth every penny because of people running it . If you worry about hostels – don’t – they are nice , clean and safe .itinerary is pure gold .

I cannot emphasize how good this experience was . Book it already !!!
