Tour Description
Visit Whitehorse, a bustling and vibrant city in the midst of endless mountains, lakes and thick boreal forest. People from all over the world travel far and wide to the Yukon to view the stunning and mystical Aurora Borealis and to participate in an exciting winter activity like dog sledding or snowmobiling. The dance of the Northern Lights is a scientific phenomenon that visitors and locals alike love to see with flashes of emerald green, mauve and many other colours flashing across the sky in brilliant patterns.
On this tour you will enjoy the northern lights in the warmth of the hotsprings pool located just steps away from your quaint cabin at the Takhini Hotsprings Valley Retreat. THIS IS AN ALL-INCLUSIVE PACKAGE!

Itinerary
Day 1 Day 1 - 3
- Fly to Whitehorse on Air North, departing Vancouver at 11:30am on Saturday and arriving in Whitehorse at 1:55pm (arrive at the airport by 9:30am)
- You will be picked up at the airport by your friendly Yukon guide in Whitehorse
- Enjoy a city tour of Whitehorse with free time for shopping and sightseeing in Whitehorse
- Check into your unique accommodation in a rustic, inspirational setting
- Go swimming in the relaxing hot springs and enjoy the wonderful view of the mountains
- Have a delicious home made dinner
- Depart on the special Northern Lights Viewing Tour to see the amazing Aurora Borealis (please note that we can not guaranteed you will see the Northern Lights)
Day 2 Day 2 Whitehorse
- Breakfast
- Enjoy a scenic hike or snowshoe through the trails around Takhini hot springs
- Visit the Bean North cafe and enjoy a delicious specialty coffee and shop for local crafts
- Lunch
- Participate in an exciting outdoor activity (additional cost) including: dog-sledding, ice-climbing, ice-fishing, and more
- Snow Shoeing: We try to walk like the old-timers and trappers do. You'll find out soon that this mode of transportation is lots of fun - and hard work. So work up a sweat and go into the deep snow to break trail.
- Dog Sledding - Transfer by van to the dog kennel outside of Whitehorse. Here you'll learn how to harness the dogs and hitch them to the sled. The highlight of this excursion will be when you'll run your own dog team for approximately 4-5 hours. Includes transfers, instruction, use of dogs and sled (two guests per dog sled), lunch and hot drinks.
- Snowmobile Driving - We drive you to the site and give you an introduction to the safety of driving a snow machine. After instructions and a trial run with your instructor you'll be driving your own machine over prepared trails through the incredible winter landscape of the Yukon. Includes transfers, instruction, the use of a snow machine (two guests per snowmobile), lunch and hot drinks.
- Ice Fishing & Snowshoeing - After a short drive to a frozen lake we'll show you how to walk on snowshoes. With our fishing equipment we'll walk onto the ice of the lake where we'll fish through a hole in the ice. With some luck we catch a Lake Trout or Grayling and pull it up through the hole. Includes transfers, snowshoes, angling equipment, instruction on how to use snowshoes and on how to fish, blankets, snack and hot drinks
- Option to visit the wildlife preserve home to moose, woodland caribou, mule deer, elk , wood bison, lynx and stone sheep (additional cost)
- Dinner
- End your day with a nice soak in the hot springs then look out for the Northern Lights!
Day 3 Day 3 Whitehorse
- Breakfast
- Option to participate in an exciting activity or visit the wildlife preserve home to moose, woodland caribou, mule deer, elk , wood bison, lynx and stone sheep
- Depart Whitehorse on a 6:00pm flight on Monday returning to Vancouver at 8:15pm

What to Bring: - The temparture is very cold in the winter time, so you must bring appropriate clothing with you or you can rent clothing for $120 for the entire trip. This includes winter outerwear pants & jacket with inner fleece liner, winter boots, insulated mitts and insulated headgear / cap. - Bring your bathing suit for the hotsprings!
Accommodation Description You will stay in a unique cabin just a 5 minute walk from the hot springs. The cabins are decorated as wall-tents and are modeled on the canvas homes of the early prospectors looking for gold. They feature two long twin beds (which can be slid together to create a king-size bed), electric heat, telephone and internet. There are 10 cabins, all connected to the main building by a raised wooden boardwalk. Inside the main building are 3 washrooms and a shower.
